Ron Paul Launches Exploratory Committee, Names Iowa Leadership Team
DES MOINES, Iowa – Congressman Paul today announced that he is forming an official Exploratory Committee to assess his options for the 2012 Presidential campaign.
“Iowa has a special place in American politics, and Dr. Paul is very pleased to announce the launch of his Exploratory Committee in the capitol of the Hawkeye State”
.
Standing in Des Moines, Dr. Paul also introduced his Iowa leadership team. All three of Dr. Paul’s Chairmen are elected members of the Republican Party of Iowa’s State Central Committee, the 17-member Board of Directors of the Iowa GOP, and have served as leaders of Campaign for Liberty in Iowa.
The leadership team consists of:
Dr. Drew Ivers, Chairman - Drew Ivers, PhD, of Webster City has been an Iowa Republican activist for 35 years and was the Iowa Campaign Chairman for Congressman Paul in 2008. He was a District Chairman for Ronald Reagan’s campaign and was the Iowa Chairman for the presidential campaigns of Pat Robertson in 1988 and Pat Buchanan in 1996 and 2000. Dr. Ivers has chaired his county party and is a five-time delegate to the Republican National Convention. He is a United States Army combat-wounded purple heart-awarded Viet Nam veteran. Dr. Ivers earned his Master’s and Ph.D. from Iowa State University and is the holder of 7 patents as a plant geneticist. He also has a Master’s in Theological Studies and is an Elder in the Evangelical Free Church. Dr. Ivers was instrumental in the forming of the initial Christian Coalition in Iowa, which is known today as the Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition.
David Fischer, Vice-Chairman - David Fischer of rural Polk County is the founder and President of Precision Research, Inc. He has served on his district Executive and Rules Committees, and is the longest-serving member of the Executive Committee for the Polk County GOP. Mr. Fischer has been a delegate to numerous Republican conventions - County, District, State, and National. He is a homeschool leader and has been an elected member of his Township Board since 2002. Mr. Fischer was a top graduate from Iowa State University’s College of Engineering, and is an experienced expert witness in the energy industry.
A. J. Spiker, Vice-Chairman - A. J. Spiker of Ames is a former Chairman, Co-Chairman, and Treasurer of the Story County Republican party. He has been a delegate to several county, district, and state GOP conventions and served on his district Executive, Rules, and Organization committees. Mr. Spiker is a Realtor and is a past President of the Ames Multiple Listing Service, Inc. He serves on the Ames Economic Development Commission Board of Directors and is an active member of St. Cecilia Catholic church and the Knights of Columbus.

The Case for Ron Paul for President
America is the greatest nation in human history. Belief in Liberty, limited government, and sound money made us the freest and most prosperous people in the world.
But we have strayed far from our founding principles, and America now faces unprecedented challenges. Two trillion dollar deficits, soaring inflation, disregard for civil liberties, and an ever-growing federal bureaucracy threaten the very fabric of our country and the futures of our children and grandchildren.
We are spending ourselves into oblivion. The out of control Federal Reserve is destroying our dollar. Big government is undermining our personal freedoms. And, our foreign policy has us playing world’s policeman — straining our military, draining our resources, and making us more vulnerable.
Congressman Ron Paul has been leading the fight against these problems for decades. And, he has consistently confronted these challenges with common-sense solutions: real spending cuts and adherence to the Constitution.

Dear Supporter,
Yesterday, I stood in the town hall in Exeter, New Hampshire, with a packed house of fellow Liberty Lovers and announced that I am a candidate for President of the United States.
And, let me tell you, the response has been tremendous!
We have been overwhelmed with media attention and interview requests. Just yesterday, I did nine national television interviews, as well as many New Hampshire–based appearances, and I even had to turn down many more. And, on Sunday, I will be the lead guest on Fox News Sunday.
But, more importantly, I have seen an outpouring of support from friends in Iowa, New Hampshire, and all across the country. Thousands of calls and emails have poured in offering support and encouragement.
Our REVOLUTION is now in a new phase. As the numbers build and the polling surges, we stand poised to win major political battles and take our Liberty back.
You and I know that America is the greatest nation in human history. Belief in Liberty, limited government, and sound money made us the freest and most prosperous people in the world.
But we are in danger. Two trillion dollar deficits, soaring inflation, endless foreign wars, and an ever-growing federal government threaten the very fabric of our nation.
All the work we have done together for the past decades has brought us to this place. We are challenging the status quo, and, if we come together now in these crucial times, we can win.
This REVOLUTION will be hard work. It will require long hours from all of us. And, as we threaten the power elites, we will be attacked. We will face smears, defaming, and dirty tricks.

Over $4 million, a very good quarter
Wow! Thanks to your generous support, my campaign raised over $4 million dollars during the last fundraising quarter!
In fact, because of a last-minute flood of letters from supporters all over the country, we won’t know the final tally until sometime next week.
Of course, now is no time for complacency. After all, I’m in this race to WIN!
Thanks to your support, I’m campaigning hard and will continue to do everything I can to raise more money and earn more voter support.

Ron Paul Pre-RNC Event to Assemble Champions of Constitutional Conservatism
Sunday’s ‘We Are The Future Rally’ at USF Sun Dome a bold sampling of movement that’s already inextricably linked to today’s, tomorrow’s GOP
LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign released today details of its much-anticipated ‘We Are The Future Rally’ that will occur just ahead of the Republican National Convention in Tampa.
The event will take place on Sunday, August 26th at the University of South Florida Sun Dome from noon until 5:00 p.m. Congressman Paul will speak at or around 4:00 p.m. and will be introduced by his son, U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky.
“Ron Paul’s rally will enable supporters, the public, and media to further witness the ideas and people that are the future of the Republican Party,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.
“Dr. Paul’s delegates and supporters are coming to Tampa under the watchful eye of America and the world. No matter the convention outcome the Congressman and his fellow patriots will be heard, and as more people in politics are swayed there will be a net benefit to the nation,” added Mr. Benton.
